As a black swan event, COVID-19 took the world by complete surprise. This newly identified coronavirus was first seen in Wuhan, the capital of China’s Hubei province on December 31st, 2019. As of the end of February 2020, almost 90,000 people had been infected by the virus, leading to over 3000 deaths.
Taking care of our employees and our clients is at the center of everything we do, and as the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) continues to impact our communities, I want to share the steps we are taking as a business to help keep our customers, our team and our communities safe.
In the short term:
Educating our team members on COVID-19 symptoms & prevention.
Re-enforcement of screening protocols.
Preparation for increased absenteeism.
Restriction of non-essential travel and the promotion of flexible working arrangements.
Alignment of IT systems and support to evolving working requirements.
Advancement of succession plans for key personnel.
Engaging with key clients around cash flow requirements.
The full impact of COVID-19 is still unknown, with no detailed forecasts for normalcy at present. One thing is for certain that it will have global economic and financial ramifications that will be felt through global supply chains from raw materials to finished products.
Rest assured at Engenda Group, we are vigilant in monitoring this evolving situation, adopting the recommendations of the UK Government and the World Health Organization (WHO) as well as local health authorities and have plans in place to quickly respond based on their guidance.
